FONE ALARM INSTALLATION LTD (FAI) are delighted to have secured one of the largest UK railway CCTV renewal projects in a generation.
South Western Railway has awarded FAI a three year turnkey technology transformation contract that will see FAI replace their entire CCTV infrastructure consisting of some 200+ systems and over 4,000 CCTV cameras across the entire South Western Railway station network.

This project will be transformational in nature as FAI deploy the latest CCTV technologies from Hanwha Techwin that will enable South Western Railway to benefit from leading edge Video Analytics and Artificial Intelligence technologies. These new CCTV technologies will be instrumental in improving station security and improve the overall journey experience for millions of train travellers.
Station CCTV has historically been a reactive tool in the context of monitoring and observing station security issues but now, with major advances in technology, South Western Railway will be able to capitalise by putting this new technology at the centre of their station management and operations.

These new technologies will not only increase CCTV coverage at stations, new High Definition CCTV cameras equipped with intelligent software will be able to self-report on key issues such as;
Trespass and vandalism
Suspicious behaviour
Overcrowding
Anti-Social behaviour
Integration with other customer interfaces such as help points
The project shall commence in April 2023 with a 36 month programme covering surveys, design, enabling works, installation, testing and commissioning and significant recoveries of the old CCTV infrastructure. The first new Hanwha station CCTV systems are planned to be commissioned by the end of 2023 with a phased roll-out thereafter.
